Analogman offers several Sun Face pedals, with options ranging from lower to higher gain, and germanium to silicon transistors. But no matter which one you choose, it’s an Analogman product… so you know it’s going to be amazing.
After trying several fuzz pedals (not just from Analogman), I’ve settled on the Sun Face BART as my goto. This pedal is a beast, delivering a killer mid to high gain sound. Right now, I’m running it through a Les Paul into a Princeton Reverb, and the combination feels to be an EXCELLENT Match. The Sun Face BART can nail tones from The Black Keys, Smashing Pumpkins, and classic Neil Young … all with ease. It was clearly built to rock hard and go fast, but Analogman’s genius move was adding a biasknob. This lets the pedal clean up beautifully when you want it to. The real magic, though, is how naturally responsive it feels with your guitar. It shines brightest when you crank the amp and use your guitar’s volume and tone knobs to dial in everything. Which allows you as a player to be fully in control of the fuzz.
In an era where many players don’t even know how to drive a manual transmission and guitar tones are getting more digital by the day, this pedal reminds you what real analog interaction feels like. Just flip it on, and suddenly you’re controlling the sound like shifting into top gear with your hands on the knobs!
