Fender Princeton Reverb

amp 4064539 1920

You know why I like a Princeton Reverb? It’s like a white canvas to paint on. Does that make any sense, or is that an expression I just made up myself?

Not really. The Princeton Reverb is a simple and incredibly flexible amp. Fender’s been doing this one right for decades. About 12 watts, tube-driven with 6V6 power tubes, a single 10-inch speaker, onboard reverb and tremolo. Plug straight in and it just works, even in an NYC apartment where volume actually matters.

And yet, we’re all here because there’s something special about playing loud. Even at lower volumes, the Princeton has that feel. The kind that reminds you why tube amps are still a thing. It’s like firing up a motorcycle, starting a sports car, or getting ready for takeoff in an airplane. Just pure power waiting under your hands.

The Princeton Reverb isn’t just an amp that keeps the peace with roommates. It takes pedals beautifully and reacts differently to every guitar you plug into it. Clean headroom when you want it, breakup when you push it, and enough character to let everything else shine through. Back to the white canvas. What can I say?
